Festive season kicks off with Christmas Fair

6th Dec 2023

The magic of the season officially arrived at St Colman's last Sunday with our Christmas Fair. The annual event which is made possible by the school community and particularly the Parents' Association is always a huge hit with children and their families as well as being a significant fundraiser for the school, and this year was no different.
Crowds began to descend on the school after St Paul's Church's 10.30 Mass and the school and parents provided a fabulous festive show.
There were high quality bakes and crafts in our PE hall thanks to the Parents' Association with all being snapped up within a couple of hours.
There were treats galore: spring rolls, pancakes, crepes, ice-cream, popcorn, hot chocolate, tea, coffee, cakes, buns and cookies ensuring there was something for every child, parent, grandparent, friend or family member while they enjoyed chatting amidst the Christmas atmosphere.
There were elves to pelt (thanks to good sports Mr. McCormack and Mr. Ennis), and fabulous face-painting provided by parents.
There was a Green Room where high quality Christmas photos could be snapped and bought.
The man of the moment of course was there along with his elves and children were enthralled to meet him ahead of his visit to them on Christmas eve.
On behalf of the school, Mr Beehan extends thanks to all of the school community who attended the fair and in particular to the Parents' Association and school staff who make this wonderful event and fundraiser possible.
