Student Council Bottle Race !
Student Council "Bottle Race!"
The latest initiative from our Student Council, a Re-Turn Bottle Race was launched in the school today.
This idea was proposed to Mr.Beehan at the Council's inaugural meeting in November and since then the members have been busy planning the finer details of the project and designing a poster campaign to promote it.
The "Bottle Race" aims to further promote the Re-Turn scheme introduced by last year's Student Council while raising funds to buy a new set of portable goalposts to be enjoyed by all the children!
The student council members promoted their campaign by visiting all the classrooms, explaining their concept and distributing their posters. Each teacher was given a laminated score card for their classroom door. Every morning this week the council representatives visit their designated classrooms to count and record the number of recyclable bottles and cans brought in. The total is then written on their score card and displayed on the classroom doors. The Student Council members tally the numbers and announce the total on the intercom!
The aim is to work together to collect an ambitious 2,500 plastic recyclables, promote a culture of sustainability while raising enough money to purchase those much wanted goalposts!!
If you would like to help us with our bottle race then all donations will be gratefully accepted and appreciated!
Wish us luck and watch this space for daily updates!!! 🤞🏻
