On Friday last, all the boys and girls from 5th and 6th class gathered in the hall for the St. Colman's Spelling Bee. Each finalist had qualified as one of the top four spellers in their class Spelling Bee. There was great excitement in the hall as Mr. Beehan, our Spell Master for the occasion started to call out the spellings for each round. After some extremely tense and challenging rounds we were left with only two spellers from fifth class remaining. In a tense and nail-biting finish of three knockout rounds, Shane narrowly defeated Hugh to be crowned our King Bee. We are all extremely proud of everyone who participated. Our Spelling Bee champion Shane will now represent St. Colman's in the Westmeath final this week and we all want to wish Shane the very best of luck ☺️
