Children in Ms. Kelly's class put on their Einstein heads and turned their classroom into centres of Research and Development in November to participate in Science Week.
For one lesson each day, Ms. Kelly set up STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and Science Stations in the classroom and children were invited to take part in research, logical thinking and experiments.
The boys and girls made a marble run using lego for the first lesson. Next up, they designed and created 3D structures using tooth picks and marshmallows. Then they learned about the differences between foods that are healthy for teeth and unhealthy for teeth. Finally they conducted a science experiment to check the effects of various substances on teeth using eggs, vinegar, coke, coffee and toothpaste.
A lot was discovered, a lot was learnt and a lot of fun was had.
